Memorising the order of Abstract Images
This is the most recent discipline. The discipline was launched in 2006 for the memorisation of texts, since it was difficult to overcome the language barrier at international championships. To handle this task, you need a "journey" , and lots of imagination.
You will get five abstract images in black and white and you have to memorise the order.
As usual we have to transform the information into images and link them to our journey. We take the samplehouse journey from the 11th journey point on. So what do you see in the first abstract image? I see a gift box with a ribbon. We place this box at the journey point bonsai. In the second picture I see a basket with a face looking out to the right. This basket will be connected with the 12th journey point vase. Then we come to the third image. I can see a mouth, we place it on the palm. The 4th picture is a rabbit sitting on our wheelchair. The 5th image represents a small devil, who is sitting in the bookshelf.
In the second row, a house with a fireplace which is linked to the 15th journey point, the piano. A paper dove on our firewood. Then a ballet dancer sitting in the fireplace. A dragonfly diving to the skin. A tunnel entrance on the rocking chair. As I already said, lots of fantasy is necessary to practice this discipline. These are the first ideas coming to my mind when I see the pictures. Your pictures will be completely different!
During the recall period, you will see the same five pictures within the same row in a different order. You have to write down the number of the original order below the picture.
Now you simply walk along the same journey again. A gift box was placed at the first journey point. Which image is similar to the gift box? The first picture is similar, so this is the first number. The vase, journey point 12 is placed in a basket! Which picture looks like a basket? The fourth picture. So we write down 2 below the fourth picture. Then we go to the palm, which image was linked to the palm? You can walk along the journey and find the relevant images. Try to recall the other pictures.
The whole evaluation takes place here.
With a little practice you will have the courage to let your imagination run free. There will be constant improvements. Of course, you can also place several images at a journey point. Try to find out during training which method is the best method for you. This discipline does not include a real system, but lots of fantasy.
Memorising Abstract Images: Fantasy training
The aim is to memorise as many abstract images as possible within 15 minutes. The abstract images are abstract forms. You will always see 5 pictures in a row and during the recalling period, you have to find the same order again.
The evaluation is based on competition rules which means that each correct row makes 5 points. If you made a mistake in a row, you will get one point less. Negative points are not possible.
